Nylon & Acetal Shapes
High Tensile Strength, Creep & Fatigue Resistance
Ensinger’s Delrin®
stock shapes are
manufactured from
DuPont Delrin resin.
They possess high
tensile strength,
creep and fatigue
resistance, and
excellent toughness.
Engineers consistently
specify DuPont
Delrin stock shapes
made by Ensinger
because of their increased physical properties, which can
be as much as 20% higher than other acetals. Ensinger
uses a proprietary extrusion process that produces
shapes with lower stress and better dimensional stability
that leads to consistent and reliable mechanical parts.
Delrin stock shapes exhibit low moisture adsorption and
are chemically resistant to hydrocarbons, solvents, and
neutral chemicals.
While these properties are impressive, it is the material’s
significantly better fatigue endurance that makes
Ensinger Delrin much more ideal for most industrial
applications than its acetal copolymer counterparts. It is
a popular choice for manufactured plastic gears. As automotive
engineers look to reduce weight, improve energy
efficiency and fuel economy, as well as lower noise output,
Delrin has become increasingly popular. Its higher
strength characteristics and better fatigue endurance
make it an excellent choice to replace metal gears while
maintaining or improving long term performance. Other
popular applications include auto safety system components;
conveyor parts, such as bushings and bearing
housings; fasteners and clips; fuel system components;
and home appliance parts.

Colored Acetal Sheet
Ensinger Penn Fibre Inc. manufactures Delrin® colored
sheets from homopolymer acetal using DuPont Delrin®
150 Resin. It is a crystalline plastic which offers an excellent
balance of properties to bridge the gap between metals
and plastics. It possesses high tensile and flexural
properties, along with creep resistance and toughness,
while exhibiting
low moisture
absorption, and
fatigue
endurance.
Applications for
colored Delrin
sheet include:
color coded parts
including washers
and shapes, various industrial and commercial panels,
color coded shims (indicating thickness), doctor blades for
rotogravure printing, containment blades for printing,
point of purchase displays, stiffeners for arts & crafts and
musical instruments (pics, guitar frets, bridge).
Delrin 2’ X 4’ stocked sheets are available .031”, .062”
and .125” thick in red, blue, green, yellow, purple, orange,
fluorescent pink, fluorescent green, natural and black.
Custom size sheets, coils, strips, punched & CNC parts
are available upon request.

Nylon Profiles
Petro
Extrusion
Technologies,
Inc. (PET),
extrudes custom
and stock
nylon shapes,
in FDA, heat-stabilized
and
MDS filled
grades of
Nylon 6 and Nylon 12. Semi-rigid or flexible grades are
available for most custom shapes. Profiles can be made in
natural, standard or custom colors as required. Petro also
offers custom cut to length capabilities.
MDS modified Nyla-Glide GR profiles are best suited to
protect conveyor rails, beds and products from sliding surface
friction. They are also excellent
as striker plates and liners, these profiles require no
lubrication to lessen friction.
PET can also custom extrude profiles based on customer
drawings.
