Drader Manufacturing recently invested in new
equipment and technology to augment its plastic welding
wire business.
The new equipment increases their capacity
and the new technology allows them to maintain even
tighter tolerances during rod production.Drader stocks a
range of welding
rod and
custom manufactures
numerous
colors
and types of
plastic. Customers
can even
send their own
resins to ensure the welding rod matches the parent plastic
material exactly. Drader’s minimum order remains at
10 pounds. Their welding rod can be used with most fabrication
type plastic welders on the market today.
Drader is also the manufacturer of
the Injectiweld for fabricating,
prototyping and repairing
thermoplastics. The welder
is easy to use and produces
high quality
welds.
Two unique features
set it apart from other units. A hot tip melts into
the parent material eliminating the need to scrape off
the layer of oxidation before making a weld.
Interchangeable tips increase the welder’s versatility
allowing welds ranging in size from 1/16” to 1/2” in a single
pass.
The second unique feature is its automatic feed system.
This allows a person to control the welder with one hand
and use the other hand to hold the part being welded.
High quality welds are produced because the unit injects
a molten shot of welding rod into the weld zone with consistent,
repeatable pressure.
Drader offers plastic welding seminars customized to
meet customers’ individual needs. In just one day, a comprehensive
course will cover all the key aspects of plastic
welding.

Plastic Welding
School Inc.
offers plastic welding
training and
certification through
a licensing agreement
with The
Welding Institute
(TWI) to offer their

Plastic Welding Technologies (PWT) introduces the
completely re-designed PWT Mini Xtruder
lightweight extrusion welder.
This light
weight, single-handed extruder allows
welding of most types of thermoplastics.
The welder uses an extrusion
auger screw to provide better
material mixing and constant
heat transfer throughout the
plastic.
PWT also offers the
Tecnodue SLV3000 and SL3000 Sheet Fusion Butt Welders. These machines are
fully hydraulic for maximum pressure and are capable of
welding up to 3” thick PP and HDPE (SLV3000). Each is
fully automated, has one-touch operation complete with
manual override and are certified to DVS standards.
Tape
printouts for each weld made includes; time, temperature,
pressure, operator, job number and more.
PWT recently introduced the new line of brush extrusion
welders made by Munsch. With adjustable motors that
produce lower noise and run significantly stronger and
more consistently, these extruders offer a dramatic
increase in service life. A new electronic control unit allows
pre-selection of the welding rod material which the unit
uses to automatically set the correct temperature.
Munsch also offers a line of brushless extrusion
welders. Brushless extruders last longer because they
contain less moving parts and they generate less heat
with the elimination of friction from brushes. Less noise
and a consistent drive torque ensures consistent output
regardless of variations in the drive motor. It also increases
output by 20-30%. The Frequency Modulation Power
Box ensures a precise controllable power supply of the
drive and eliminates vulnerability to voltage fluctuations
and load changes ensuring a steady extradite output.

STANMECH Technologies, Inc. carries the Dohle
line of plastic welding hand extruders for the civil engineering,
landfill construction and container fabrication
industries to its Canadian product line. The Dohle line has
been designed for light weight and higher output. Dohle
has developed this leading edge plastic welding technology
to meet customer demands for increased durability,
higher output and improved field performance.
All Dohle models incorporate proven drive and extruder
technology with fewer moving parts to minimize wear
and dramatically increase the service life of the extruder.
Each of the models in the line is lighter in weight and has
smaller overall dimensions compared to conventional output.
All models feature a flanged connection between the
drive and the extruder that ensures alignment and minimizes
excessive bearing stress. The welding rod feed
mechanism for all models has been incorporated into the
extruder screw design to provide direct input to the
extruder screw which eliminates feed mechanism overheating
and wear. Each of these new models has been
purpose-built to handle harsh, field application conditions
where ease of use, speed and quality are critical.
