5-Axis CNC Machine
MAAC Machinery, a leader in the manufacturing of thermoforming
machinery, is producing a line of 5-axis CNC
routers to the thermoforming industry, labeled Royce
Routers.
The Royce Router is providing faster feeds and speeds,
higher quality and more reliable components in order to
allow processors
the ability
to match the
output of
rotary thermoforming
machines. This
router is
designed specifically
for the
maximum production
of trimming
thermoformed parts. The Royce Router combines
the latest technology and speed to improve cycle times
up to 400% when compared to traditional CNC routers.
This allows processors to not only speed secondary
processes, but eliminates the need for multiple “slower”
trimming machines typically required to provide an equivalent
output.
This addition to the MAAC line up allows them to now
provide complete processing cells; from forming equipment
and molds, to trimming equipment and trim fixtures.
With the ability to provide everything from a single source,
MAAC can greatly reduce project timing, pre-set all processing
parameters, greatly reduce learning curves, and
assure complete cell integration.

3- and 5-Axis High-Speed
Machining Centers
SB Machine Tools, the importer and national distributor
of the SHODA CNC Routers and Machining Centers, has
introduced two brand-new high-speed machining centers -
the 3-axis NCN8000 and the 5-axis NC7000U. Both
models are specially designed for machining plastics.
The NCN8000 features a square 51” x 51” table with Tslots
for clamping any shape of work piece, and a vacuum
capability for machining thin plastic materials. The axis
strokes are 51”(x), 51”(y) and 16”(z). The rapid feed rate
is 1,575 ipm. The NCN8000 is
equipped with a 15,000 rpm, BT30
spindle. An 8-tool ATC is included as
standard.The bridge-type NC7000U
features articulating heads for
the B (+/- 110º) and C (+/-
360º) axes. Three different
table sizes are available:
51” x 83”, 63” x
83” and 83” x 83”; axis
strokes are 63”-x / 122”-
y / 32”-z; 83”-x / 122”-y
/ 32”-z and 102” -x /
122”- y / 32”-z respectively. The tables have T-slots and
vacuuming capability to adapt to either sheet plastics or
irregular shaped
work pieces.
Maximum speed is
18,000 rpm. A rapid
feed rate of 2,362
ipm minimizes noncutting
time in the
machining cycle. An 8-
tool ATC is included
as standard.

New CNC Router Website
Techno, Inc. announced the launch of their newly
revamped website. After much consideration and design
this new website maintains the same great features as its
former, but has evolved
into a fully functional,
user-friendly site that will
provide visitors with the
most amount of information
in the least amount of
clicks.
“We wanted to make our
new website clean and concise,
yet informative, says
Roy Valentine, CNC Routers
Sales Manager. Keeping
our own experiences of web surfing in mind, we were able to
create a new site that gives customers a lot of information
without losing them in difficult, repetitive, click throughs. This
new site is extremely easy to navigate and provides the reader
valuable information on CNC technology.
Areas of strong interest are Techno’s complete technical
section, customer testimonials and application stories.
These detailed sections provide readers relatable information
that can be used to help their business. Customer
application stories tell how real Techno customers have
grasped automation technology and grown their business
while lowering operating costs. Today’s tough economy
means companies need to get smarter and automate their
cutting process. Techno’s new website will help provide a
solid foundation of information so business owners can
make a smart decision when choosing to streamline their
company.

Sign System
The system also includes Thermwood’s Gen2 Super -
Control which distinguishes it from other machines in this
class. Featuring the standard in vision software, i-cut
Vision, it offers the power of proven full non-linear distortion
correction, a simple, intuitive user interface and full
prepress and RIP integration. Jobs are quickly prepared
and sent to the SR43 without error or miscalculation. And
with the many i-script compatible RIP’s only i-cut integrates
finishing from the
design, printing and
cutting steps.
The SR43 is capable
of machining flat and
3 dimensional signs
using wood, aluminum,
plastics,
composites and
other various types
of materials.
Thermwood’s SR43 with
“QuickCut” technology offers a revolutionary new
approach for nested based applications. Just select and
resize the components, then make
them, right at the machine. The SR43 also communicates
with all major design software packages at the “Job
Level.” This means the software sends the control a
description of what to make and the machine control does
everything else automatically.
