Polymer Sheets

King Plastic’s polymer sheets work like wood and last a lifetime. The polymer sheets are easy to fabricate using common working tools and techniques. A plastic welding technique called hot gas (air) welding uses a heat gun, known as a hot air welder, and creates hot air to melt the two pieces of polymer together with a plastic filler rod.

Automated Welding

Leister, a premier Swiss manufacturer of plastic welding tools with global sales and a U.S. headquarters in Itasca, IL., recently introduced two modular thermoplastic extrusion welders. These highly-innovative welders are designed as continuous operating component tools for mounting on a robot or to be integrated into a machine, creating an uncompromised solution for automated extrusion welding or 3D printing of thermoplastic.

The communication, drive components and interfaces are chosen by the solution provider/integrator based on individual preference and the given application. Electrical and mechanical connection points are pre-set for convenient integration of additional modules including hot-air pre-heat and required sensors.

The WELDPLAST 220-i model weighs approximately 33 lbs. fully assembled and is capable of up to 2kg/hr output. It can be used with a wide variety of thermoplastics commonly used in additive manufacturing or for automated fabrication of PE, PP or PVC components.

The WELDPLAST 600-i model weighs approximately 55 lbs. fully assembled and is capable of up to 6kg/hr output for automated fabrication applications using HD-PE, LDPE or PP.

Mobile Butt Welder

Abbeon’s exciting new EasyWeld 110 Butt Welder Mobile Welding System is a plastic welding machine for butt welding of PE, PP and PVDF pipes and fittings from OD 20 to OD 110 mm. The basic machine has two large aluminum basic clamping tools which can swivel up to 15° on each side for the fabrication of segmented bends.

The machine is ideally suited for use in the pipeline system and for installation work because of its light and compact construction and horizontal and vertical motion. In stationary use, the machine can be fixed in a vice or at table support. A compact manual planer is operated by means of a ratchet. The electronically controlled heating element, in accordance with DVS 2208 (220 V/600 W), has a working diameter of 140 mm. An indicator light confirms temperature settings have been reached on the Teflon coated heat plate. A steel carrying case protects and stores the machine.

Included: Basic machine chassis, mechanical facing tool w/ two-edge usable blade, PTFE-coated heating element, tabletop stand for heating element, metal transport case for machine, eight different size reducers, accessories, clamps for chassis, incl. horizontal and vertical adjustability.

The unit has an operating range of 20-110mm, has a 230V 50-60 Hz power supply and an 800 watt heating element. The unit weights 71 lbs with all components and comes with a range of reducer insets, 4 semi-circular jaws per size, from 20 mm – 90mm.

High Speed Torch

The Laramy Torch is an electrically heated, variable gas flow torch of proven design, featuring 6 interchangeable “Located Heat” elements for welding temperatures from 450-1300°F. This highproduction torch offers complete versatility of inert gas selection for production and speed welding on all types of thermoplastics.

“Located Heat” elements are ceramic, clad with stainless steel for greater shock and break resistance – plus added protection against overheating and burnout. “Located Heat” design concentrates heat output at the tip end of the torch for cooler, more comfortable barrel temperature while delivering higher gas temperature at the tip from lower wattage elements: 250, 350, 450 and 550-watt. The elements are readily interchangeable in a single small-diameter barrel for fast changeover and simplified operation.

Two new high-temperature elements, 650 and 750- watts, make a heat range of 850-1300°F available for speed welding of polypropylene and other high temperature materials. These elements require use of a long barrel, which is interchangeable with the shorter length barrel used with the lower wattage elements.

Barrell Extender

Seelye, Inc., a division of Seelye Acquisitions, Inc., one of the leading manufacturers of hot air thermoplastic welders and accessories for over 65 years, is excited to announce their new product the 2019Extender. The 2019Extender helps users get into tighter areas and corners more easily. With its slender design, the extender smoothly transitions from the barrel to the end of the welding tip, allowing users to have a better view of the welding bead. Large-Diameter for Tight Spaces

McElroy offers the solution for fusing large-diameter pipe up to 65” OD in challenging, close-quarter working environments with the new In-Ditch 1600. Its creation is in direct response to a customer who needed a machine capable of butt fusing large-diameter tie-in connections in a high-density neighborhood with many turning roadways.

The In-Ditch 1600 is designed with a compact, 2-jaw carriage and a top-loading heater and facer for added flexibility. It is capable of fusing onto as little as 15"􀀀 of exposed pipe with minimal excavation required. Multiple lifting points, a carriage spreader bar and skidded carriage provide ease of mobility and fit within a small envelope. A roll cage helps protect the carriage and hydraulics as they are lowered into the ditch.

The carriage of the In-Ditch 1600 has the same 30,000 pounds of clamping force per jaw as the time-proven MegaMc® 1600, the largest in McElroy’s rolling machine line, as well as the same 3,000 psi maximum pressure.

Versatile Welder
