New GE Business Unit Named

General Electric announced "GE Polymershapes" as the name of the new business unit formed last year through its acquisitions of Cadillac Plastic and Commercial Plastics & Supply Corp. The new distribution business - for plastic sheet, rod, tube and film - is a stand-alone entity within the GE Plastics family of companies, and is headquartered in Huntersville, N.C.

There are 150 branch locations across the United States, Canada and Mexico, with additional locations in Europe, Latin America and the Pacific Rim. All local sites are listed on the company website, www.gepolymershapes.com, including specialty shops for fabrication and film conversion.

GE Polymershapes has 2,200 employees in 16 countries, and distributes a variety of products from GE Plastics, GE Silicones, and dozens of other quality name-brand manufacturers.
