Sheffield Changes Brand Name of PC Sheet Products
Sheffield Plastics Inc. has changed the names of Hyzod™ and Hygard™ polycarbonate sheet products to MAKROLON ®. Sheffield’s polycarbonate sheet products have been made from MAKROLON ® polycarbonate resins provided by the Bayer Corporation since the 1960’s. After Sheffield joined with Bayer AG in 1999, the decision was made to market all polycarbonate sheet products as MAKROLON ® - The None Tougher PC sheet.

The name change will allow Sheffield to capitalize on the name recognition of MAKROLON polycarbonate resins in the global market. With the support of Bayer’s global resources, Sheffield Plastics continues to supply high quality, optically superior polycarbonate sheet at competitive prices and has accelerated new development efforts to introduce new value-added products that will be marketed under the MAKROLON brand name.
