Welding Training

Back by popular demand, thermoplastic welders will again have the opportunity to obtain DVS (German Welding Society) certification during two workshops that will be held in September 2004 at WEGENER North America’s facility in the Chicagoland area.

SKZ (Sueddeutsches Kunststoffzentrum) is offering two one-week courses on hand and extrusion welding of thermoplastic sheet with the option of DVS (German Welding Society) certification. SKZ (www.skz.de) is a recognized leader in the education and testing of personnel in welding, installation and the manufacturing processes of thermoplastics. The course instructor is a DVS certified thermoplastic welding educator.

The curriculum includes hot gas hand welding of HDPE, PP, PVC-U and PVDF as well as hot gas extrusion welding of HDPE and PP. DVS certification in the various materials and processes is optional. This course is beneficial to rookies and veterans alike.
