C.R. Onsrud Celebrates 30th Anniversary
C. R. Onsrud Inc., a manufacturer of both CNC and
Inverted Routers™ based in Troutman, NC is celebrating
its 30th anniversary this year.
C. R. Onsrud was incorporated in February of 1976. Over
the years the company has grown from one man’s dream to
20 million dollars in annual sales. Charles R. Onsrud,
founder of C. R. Onsrud Inc., started out manufacturing the
Intri-Shaper, and soon followed with the invention of the
Inverted Router which has become the standard replacement
for the conventional overhead pin router. Onsrud realized,
by reversing the traditional overhead spindle location,
the Inverted Router would be more versatile and accurate,
as well as safer and easier to operate.
C.R. Onsrud presented their first CNC
Machining Center in 1996, and this is
now the bulk of their business with 3-,
4- and 5-axis models that can be configured
to meet the individual customer’s
specific production needs.
