Aetna Acquires Pro-Fab

Aetna Plastics Corp. of Cleveland, OH has acquired Pro-Fab Manufacturing, Inc. a division of Magnus Equipment of Willoughby, OH. Pro-Fab is a 25 year old fabricator of corrosion resistant plastic equipment with a plant located in Macedonia, OH.

Pro-Fab Manufacturing will join the operation of Vanguard Plastics, a company in Mantua, OH that Aetna acquired in 2004. The combined operations of the two companies will form one of the Midwest’s largest fabricators of plastics equipment and materials for the chemical, metals, water treatment and general industrial markets.

Aetna Plastics started in 1946 as a distributor and fabricator of plastics materials. Aetna is one of the nation’s oldest plastics distributors and a founding member of the International Association of Plastics Distributors. The association’s annual achievement award, “The Paul Davis Award of Merit” is named after its founder.

Pro-Fab’s people and equipment will be relocated in the recently purchased and expanded facilities of Vanguard Plastics, located on a 4-acre site in Mantua, Ohio.
