SYSPRO Named "Software Company Of The Year"
SYSPRO, a leading producer of enterprise software, has
been selected “Software Company of the Year” by the
Software Council of Southern California (SCSC). SYSPRO
was one of three finalists chosen from several hundred
nominations for the award, one of the most prestigious
awards in the industry. This top recognition was given to
SYSPRO based on the company’s attainment of the highest
aggregate ratings in numerous categories, including:
Product innovation: Sales/revenue growth; Team building;
Positive effect on the technology industry within the region
and Legislative activities pertinent to the Software Industry.
Rick Sharga, CEO of CJ Patrick Company, presented
the honor to SYSPRO USA officers, Brian Stein, President
and Joey Benadretti, Vice President, at a formal awards
banquet, “A Night of Shining Stars,” on February 5,
2004, at the historic Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los
Angeles. SCSC President Hoshi Printer presided over the
ceremony, which was attended by more than 350 key
industry people.
In the acceptance speeches, Stein acknowledged that
SYSPRO had emerged from the recessionary economy of
2003 as a stronger, more focused company. “We kept the
SYSPRO team intact with not one layoff,” he said. “We listened to the marketplace and developed and introduced
new software solutions that enable the small to medium-size
manufacturer and distributor to successfully compete
with companies of all sizes.”
Benadretti said of the honor, “It doesn’t get any better
than this. This acknowledgement from our peers reflects
the stature and respect that SYSPRO has gained over the
years. The award confirms SYSPRO’s place at the top of
the list of great software companies.” He also acknowledged
the hard work of every SYSPRO employee and indicated
the award was not being accepted for what SYSPRO
had accomplished but to be held as a standard against
which the company would measure future efforts.
This is the second time in the past three years that the
Software Council has honored SYSPRO. In 2002, SYSPRO
was runner-up for Software Developer of the Year.
