A.L.P. Sells Thermoforming Business
A.L.P. Lighting Components, a leading global manufacturer of Lighting components and kits, announced that it has sold its thermoforming business to Mableton, GA-based RLR Industries, Inc. In conjunction with RLR’s sales management, the Bill Brown Sales Company (BBS) will represent RLR’s product lines in the Continental United States (excluding flat sheet sales) to the lighting OEM marketplace.
Customers located inclusive and northeast of Washington, DC, and in Eastern Canada will continue to be serviced by RLR’s existing sales representation and structure.
This sale supports A.L.P.’s manufacturing focus on injection molding, compression molding and metal fabrication. The transaction culminates organizational changes that began with A.L.P.’s sale of its extrusion business in late 2018 and allows the company to close its Olive Branch, Mississippi plant. Once this process is complete, no further business changes or sales are being contemplated.
This agreement augments the BBS product portfolio, expanding their ability to offer complete solutions to the lighting community. A.L.P. molding plants in both Dickson, TN and Charlevoix, MI are slated for expansion during calendar 2019. The LexaLite® brand will also place a new focus on proprietary edgelit panels and a line of silicone TIR optics for a range of applications.

They offer one of the industry’s most comprehensive line of products for OEMs and the aftermarket.
