Gratitude This is one of my favorite issues of the year because it
showcases our advertisers in our annual Buyer’s
Guide. We want to thank each one of them for their
support, and you should too, as they make PD&F possible.
Our Machinery & Tooling feature showcases several
companies that manufacture products ideally
suited for the plastics industry. The technology that is
available today can decrease production costs, and improve
your bottom line while delivering better parts than
ever before to help you get more out of your cutting
equipment, and cutting tools.
Next, our Polyolefin Spotlight features on of the largest
volume thermoplastics fabricated today. Polyolefins are
available in a wide range of grades, formulations and
shapes. They find great opportunities in many industries
and applications. They are tough, chemical resistant and
offer good electrical properties
with a low coefficient of friction
and moisture absorption. They
are also relatively lightweight
and easy to fabricate.
This issue also includes our 27th Buyer’s Guide, a collective
resource of our advertisers’ products and services
this past year. It is a one-stop shop for nearly every product
your company will need. Search the online version
of the 2024 Buyer’s Guide at www.plasticsmag.com.
When you find what you’re looking for, don’t forget to
tell them you got their name from PD&F Magazine.
Safety Solutions is back this month, and Jack Podojil
tackles an ongoing challenge in many shops, “Have You
Really Trained Your Machine Operators?”
OSHA is still citing
machine guarding and lockout & tagout. "Ignoring
OSHA and industry-recommended machine safety procedures
is a leading cause of injuries in the manufacturing
industry," explained OSHA Chicago South Area
Director James Martineck. Are your employees properly
trained? If your company needs assistance with any
safety related matter, Jack would be happy to help. As a
reader of PD&F Magazine, he is available for an initial
consultation. He can be reached via email at
jpodojil@podojilconsulting.com.
Finally, if you are looking for additional resources to
make your summer more profitable, need to contact our
advertisers, or manage your subscription, search our website, where you can do all of that in one place.
Thanks again to our readers, advertisers, and all those
who make PD&F Magazine what it is today!
Enjoy the issue,
David Whelan
