$1100-$2500 THERMOFORMING EQUIPMENT
Vacuum Form has been manufacturing small thermoforming equipment for five years and has been producing a high end performance machine at a very reasonable cost. Douglas Walsh, owner, has been frustrated because his potential customers seem to want to spend more on machines (that do practically the same as his), by trying to build something similar. He feels that the company that tries to make their own vacuum forming machine, even knowing that is it not difficult to build, do not have enough engineering or technical skills to correctly design the machine the first time through.
The company is now offering new do-it-yourself Proto-Form construction plans which is a one- hundred page, easy-to-read, assembly manual with 30 detailed drawings and 36 color photos. Vacuum Form can also supply the heating elements and vacuum pumps to make the project go smoothly. and feel that hobbyists, product designers, inventors and small businesses can now afford this versatile manufacturing process. Estimated material cost to build these Proto-Form machines are: 2 x 2 ft. machine from $1100-$1350; and a 2 x 4 ft. machine from $1800-$2500, which includes the cost of the plans at $125 complete. The total cost also includes oven kits, which the company also supplies.
