WATERJET CUTTING
PaR Systems, Inc. has introduced an affordable, complete turnkey precision waterjet cutting system. This high precision gantry robotic system has a tool tip accuracy of +/- .003" and repeatability of +/-.001" in 2.5, 3, 3.5 or 5 axes. "The system will cut virtually any material," the company said, "with cutting speeds up to 700 ipm." Secondary operations such as high speed milling and routing can also be added. Named "Vector," the waterjet cutting system is available with work envelopes ranging in size from 4' x 6' to 8' x 12', allowing the operator 360° access to the cutting table. The systems are simple to set up and operate, and their totally enclosed overhead X and Y axes use blowers and gravity to keep contamination away from the precision components.
