WRENCHLESS ROUTER COLLET
Jacobs Chuck Manufacturing Co. has introduced the PowerCollet, which allows many router users to change router bits by hand, eliminating the need for collet wrenches. By replacing a router's conventional collet, operators can change router bits in seconds instead of minutes.
"The router user simply pulls up on the locking sleeve to open the collet, inserts the new bit and pushes down on the sleeve until a 'SNAP' is heard," said Nancy McCarthy, group brand manager of Jacobs. "The Collet can be used with either 1/2" or1/4" shank router bits."
