HUNTSMAN FORMS MARKET DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT
Huntsman Polymers Corporation has entered into a Joint Market Development Agreement with Borealis, Europe's largest polyolefins producer, to expand the European market for their Rexflex® flexible polyolefin (FPO).
The material is a new class of polypropylene that features exceptional flexibility, heat resistance and ease of processing for key end use applications including automotive, medical, food, personal care and industrial. For more information, call 801-532-5200.
Also, Huntsman announced an agreement in principle to acquire four businesses from Imperial Chemical Industries, P.L.C. Under the terms of the agreement, Huntsman will purchase ICI's polyurethanes business, with its three manufacturing sites, their titanium dioxide business, their aromatics business, and their share of Olefins production.
Huntsman has completed the acquisition of Rhodia's performance polyether polyol business. Huntsman will manage all aspects of the business, including order processing, technical service, new product development, sales and general inquiries. Rhodia will continue to manufacture the polyols for supply to Huntsman through 1999. They will then transfer production to their manufacturing facilities.
