RHODIA TO EXPAND INTO NORTH AMERICA

Rhodia, the world's second largest producer of nylon 6.6, the third largest producer of nylon and a major specialty chemicals company, has announced plans to expand its worldwide general plastics nylon business into North America by opening a new manufacturing facility this fall.The 20,000 sq. ft., multi-million dollar plant will eventually have a production capability for up to 20,000 tons of compounded polyamide resin, and will help the company achieve its goal of reaching over $15 million in U.S. sales of its Technyl-PA6 and PA6.6 materials by 2001.
