Family
With vaccines getting more and more plentiful, and the hope that the pandemic will be under control soon, the thing I look forward to most is spending time with family, friends and business associates – some of whom are like family. I feel like the worst is behind us and we are near the end of the strict restrictions, but what will the new normal be? So much has changed and so many jobs have been transformed that I cannot imagine what things will look like a year from now as the world comes out of hibernation.

In the meantime, I am optimistic that our plastics family will be reconnecting at trade shows later this year. Both the AWFS® Fair and SPE Thermoforming Conference are moving forward with plans to host exhibitors and attendees. Click on Mark Your Calendar for links to their websites.

This issue is packed with exciting products that will make your business better. First up, our Saws & Tooling spotlight features some of the best options available to plastic distributors and fabricators today. From vertical saws that save space to horizontal, high-throughput models with a host of features, there is a configuration and price point to meet your production needs.

When it comes to saw blades that run faster, cut smoother and provide a great edge finish, we have those too.

Next, our See-Through Plastics spotlight has versatile materials for everything from applications from those that require biocompatibility to specialty films that can bond to difficult substrates or low surface energy plastics. We feature a variety of materials along with tools for trimming, polishing, flaming plus some hardware and polish to finish it all off.

Unfortunately, we had so much to share with you that we ran out of room for Safety Solutions. Never fear, Jack will be back next issue with more help information to address your industrial safety needs. In the meantime, you can access an archive of topics for all your safety concerns on our website by clicking on “Safety Solutions” under Columns. And don’t forget if your company needs assistance with a safety related matter, Jack would be happy to help. As a reader of PD&F Magazine he is available for an initial consultation. He has over 45 years in industrial safety and can be reached via email at jpodojil@podojilconsulting.com.

We hope that you, your family, friends and coworkers stay well and that business returns to normal soon. We look forward to seeing you at trade shows this year. To find more materials, machinery, products and services that will help you find new opportunities, manage your subscription or contact our advertisers, search our website.

Stay safe and enjoy the issue,
