Optimism
It’s hard to remain optimistic while facing challenges on so many fronts. One of the greatest contributors to these challenges has clearly been the pandemic. I, however, am optimistic that we will see conditions get better in the coming weeks as Omicron runs its course. But it will take months to unravel the damage to our supply chains, shore up labor shortages, and manage our way through rising costs in virtually all aspects of our business and personal lives. We hope you, your family, and your associates are well. Please do what you can to stay safe and stop the spread.

To help your company remain optimistic, in spite of the current economic climate, this issue features machin¬ery, tooling, and materials that can open new doors, and new markets for your business. These suppliers are ready to help you succeed in 2022 and beyond.

We kick-off with our CNC Routers & Tooling spot-light. Featuring 3- and 5-axis machines that will increase your productivity and profitability along with tooling that will help you achieve the best finish off your new, or existing CNC. There are more options and price points to choose from than ever before.

Next, we look at what’s new in Composites. They are well suited for applications in oil and gas, semiconductor and electronics as well as medical, aerospace, analytic instrumentation and energy. Composite plastics come in many formulations and configurations. They can offer superior strength to weight ratios, a low coefficient of thermal expansion and mois¬ture resistant. From thermoset plastics which are unique composites of cross-linked resins to continuous fibre-reinforced thermoplastic plates and multilayer hybrids, op¬portunities are everywhere for these unique materials.

Finally, in Safety Solutions Jack Podojil asks “Have You Conducted Your Periodic Lockout & Tagout Audit?” A periodic inspection of each energy control procedure must be performed at least annually to ensure that the energy control procedures continue to be implemented properly and that employees are familiar with their responsibilities under those procedures.

Does your company need assistance with a safety related matter? As a reader of PD&F Magazine Jack will be happy to help. He is available for an initial consultation and has over 45 years in industrial safety. E-mail him at jpodojil@podojilconsulting.com today!

We look forward to bringing you the news and new products that will enable you to be more optimistic this year. To find additional resources search our website. You can also contact our advertisers or manage your subscription.

Stay safe and enjoy the issue,
