Crystal Clear Edges
A challenge in the machining of PMMA, acrylic, Plexiglas® or Makrolon® is that these plastics become too hot during processing and may even melt. The answer to this problem is Hufschmied's Plexiglas milling cutter 110FPRV "Raven-V". An innovative cutting-edge geometry allows the sensitive transparent materials to be machined burr-free and with virtually crystal-clear cutting edges despite high feed rates. With the roughing and finishing tool, machining is possible in one step with-out tool change and without re-polishing. Additionally, superior tool life increases efficiency and profitability.
Other tools in the series are the radius cutter 110FPER for 3D machining and the V slot cutter 110V, the tool for lettering, chamfering or profile cuts. You can find more information about these tools in their product flyer.

Extruded, Corona-Treated HDPE
PE2PRINT® from Roechling is found in many applications and solutions thanks to its toughness, durability, recyclability, and cold temperature characteristics. PE2PRINT is an extruded, corona-treated HDPE material that allows for vivid, full-color graphics on a durable surface that won’t chip, crack, peel, or break. Weather and moisture resistance make this material long-lasting in outdoor applications, and it features better impact resistance than other signage materials such as polystyrene. Classified as a #2 recyclable material that can be reclaimed by most indus¬trial recycling centers, the material is the environmentally friendly option for printable signage and displays. Lightweight and durable, PE2PRINT is used in point-of-purchase displays, shelf liners, merchandising strips, shelf danglers, industrial safety signage, outdoor signage, and much more.
It is available in thicknesses from 0.016” to 0.25” and comes in thirteen eye-catching colors with custom Pan¬tone® color matching available upon request. This versatile material has a dull smooth texture on top, which provides an ideal surface for high resolution graphics, and the underside of the sheet has a soft matte ‘grain’ texture. The material is printable using conventional, U.V., or 4-color process screen printing, lithography, and hot-stamping, and can easily be die-cut or guillotined to the application’s required size and shape.

Inserts for Plastic Assemblies
SI® inserts from Penn Engineering® permanently install in plastic assemblies to provide durable and reusable metal threads for mating hardware and allow for repeated disassembly and re-attachment whenever required. By promoting quick and easy access to an assembly, SI inserts offer highly practical joining solutions in contrast to fixed and unyielding methods, such as adhesives or rivets. Repeated reuse will not damage the strong metal threads or compromise attachment integrity. Types include brass inserts and lead-free stainless steel and aluminum versions.
Applications include plastic equipment or components for the medical, automotive, aerospace, transportation, and recreational industries, among many others.
All SI inserts install permanently in plastic, offer unique features, and can be classified generally by installation method. Depending on series, inserts can either be ultrasonically pressed and/or heat staked, molded-in during the injection molding process, or cold pressed into a pre-molded or drilled hole.
SI inserts can be specified in unified or metric thread sizes and in a variety of designs and lengths – including SI microPEM® inserts with threads as small as M1.
