NEW SUBSTRATE
Alusuisse Composites, Inc. introduced to the North American and Latin American markets Sintra®top material, a lightweight but rigid board of foamed polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with solid PVC surfaces for a high-gloss finish on both sides, manufactured with new technology.
These smooth, durable surfaces make the product ideal for various types of signage, displays, point-of-sale, application of vinyl graphics, 3-D constructions utilizing a high-gloss effect, and other special visual communication projects. In addition to its gloss finish, the new material offers a higher degree of UV resistance and greater moisture resistance than many types of alternative substrates. The material can be printed, painted, lacquered or surface coated, and laminated. Processing capability with usual equipment includes: sawing, cutting, drilling, milling, threading or riveting, as well as heat-bending and thermoforming.
It is initially available in 3mm and 5mm thickness in white, in sheet sizes of 4' x 8' and available in 4' x 10' (3mm only) - all provided with a protective masking. Plans are to offer the product in "primary colors" at a later date.
