RECLINGABLE, WRITABLE MASKING FILM
A new heat-activated, reclingable, writable Masking film from Atlantis Plastics, Custom Films Division provides a cost-effective alternative to ad hesive-coated masking paper.
The adhesive in traditional masking pa per structures tends to become more aggressive over time and can make removal challenging. This new film is engineered to provide long-term, consistent, easy-peel surface protection for products made from polycarbonate, acrylic or polyethylene terephthalate sheets.
The polyethylene-based film has recling/rewet properties and can be written on just like paper using a pen, pencil or marker. Natural, white and a range of colors are available. Additives can also be added to create a kraft paper look and feel.
A significant benefit to users is the film's ability to be removed in one piece through its use cycle. This is possible due to engineering advances which have produced consistent cling properties that do not gain or lose aggressiveness over time.
The masking film is available in widths up to 86" and gauges down to 2 mil. One-color printed film can be made in up to a 58" width. Release force ranges from 0.5 to 2.5 pounds. Applications include prototyping, signage and display products.
