POLYURETHANE THIN FILMS

A new line of precision-skived, thermoset cast polyurethane thin films is now available from Mearthane Products Corporation. These films are offered in a wide range of dimensions and may be custom formulated to meet a variety of chemical, physical and electrical conductivity requirements. They may be ordered in minimum quantities as low as 50 lbs., making them ideal for short to medium product production runs.

Compared to conventional thermoplastic films, thermoset polyurethane films offer improved tensile strength, tear strength, and abrasion resistance. These films can also be laminated to other materials such as PTFEs or coated with adhesives to create advanced composite film structures with multiple performance and manufacturing capabilities.

Mearthane polyurethane films can be colored, opaque, translucent and near-clear. Although polyurethane is highly insulated in its natural form, the films are also available with Mearthane's patented conductive technology, providing static dissipation in applications with resistivity ranges as low as 1 x 10⁷ Ohm/cm.

The polyurethane thin films are supplied in continuous roles in custom widths from 1/4" to 28" and thicknesses from .0025" to .100". Available hardnesses range from 90 Shore A to 75 Shore D. The materials are temperature stable to 250°F.
