Panel Saw For Small Shop Applications
Giben America debuted the Smart 65-panel saw at the AWFS Woodworking Fair in Anaheim, CA. The Smart 65 is a heavy-duty, competitively priced panel saw developed to satisfy the requirements of the small company in need of higher production levels. The Smart 65 takes advantage of Giben's 50+ years of specialization in panel sizing technology and incorporates many of the advanced features of Giben's larger systems.
The machine has a standard cutting length of 149.5"/3800 mm and a cutting height of 2.6"/65 mm making it extremely flexible for a wide variety of applications. It incorporates an electronically controlled pusher with overhead side guides and pneumatic clamps with floating "fingers" that keep material books firmly in place during the entire cutting cycle up to the last trim cut. Other standard features include a heavy-duty saw carriage, four air flotation blade release, a pneumatic quick blade release, a powerful 15 hp main saw motor, 1.5 hp scoring saw, automatic side aligner, pressure beam with torsion bar, three dust extraction outlets, roller profiles in the pusher area and the PC-based G57 machine controller. The G57 is based on the Windows 98/ME/2000/NT operating system with an easy to use highly graphic color interface on a built-in 15-inch industrial color monitor.
