The system also allows the operator to see where the saw blade is going to contact the material prior to making a cut. The hose adapter clamps into the vacuum port on top of the Porter Cable saw and the 2 1/4" standard Shop Vac® hose slides over that adapter. The hose retracts over the top of the panel saw using a 6" roller that also acts as the retraction pulley. The hose channel has been widened to accommodate the larger diameter hose. Because the pulley moves with the movement of the saw carnage, it helps move the hose. A dust collection system utilizes a six-horse power Shop Vac® with a hose length of 20'.
