Forming Grade Mar Resistnant Plastics
SciCron Technologies, LLC announced the introduction of new mar resistant, coated plastics which can be heat formed and bent into soft radius shapes without destroying the coating. These new products, which are being marketed under the trade name Forming Grade Mar-Conä
, allow fabrication of shaped parts with protective coated surfaces in a single step, eliminating the two step process of forming and then coating. This coating technology, developed by SciCron Technologies, makes possible plastic sheet products which combine excellent mar resistance and chemical resistance with superior heat forming and bending capabilities. The sheet surfaces resist hazing, marring and scratching from cleaning, handling and defacement efforts, while also resisting damage from chemicals and solvents which would normally damage the plastic.
The new coating can be applied to many plastics, including clear, tinted, and opaque acrylics, polycarbonate, PETG, PET and PVC, according to Jeff Brown, CEO of SciCron Technologies. "These new products have properties which are unmatched by any other products in the market," according to Brown. "They can be used to fabricate a wide variety of mar and chemical resistant shaped items, such as; windshields, face shields, sneeze guards, safety shields, display components, and machine covers," Brown added.
The products are available in sheet sizes up to 72" x 96", in a variety of different plastic types. The coating can be applied to one or both sides of the sheets depending on customer preference.
SciCron Technologies, LLC is a plastics coating company specializing in surfacing large plastic sheet products with high performance coatings. Its products include coated plastics used for glazing, enclosures, machine covers, and fabricated items.
