Sheet Clamps for Thermoforming
Edward D. Segen & Co., LLC, offers an innovation that will provide thermoformers with a simple and inexpensive method for holding hot plastic sheets securely during forming.
Titian Sheet Clamps provide the user positive sheet clamping which results in increased production of higher quality parts. The sheet clamps prevent webbing and assure even distribution of plastic over the mold. The clamps also assist sheet stripping of male molds resulting in reduced scrap, improving cycle time and parts quality.
The inexpensive Titian Sheet Clamps are easy to install on new or existing tooling and can accommodate any sheet width. The self-contained gas activated springs eliminate the need to hook-up compressed air. Titian Sheet Clamps save on tool building costs and greatly reduce thermoformed set-up time.
Clamp cylinders are attached at the clamp bar using a ball swivel retainer which allows independent, free clamp bar movement. The clamp bar yields to missed indexes unformed parts, double shots, providing positive clamping in adverse conditions.
Segen & Co. has over 35 years of experience as a world-class leader, in high-performance and innovative tooling for the thermoform plastics industry as well as a leading provider of related components, specialty materials and accessories, including: clamps, workholding systems, pressure boxes, Segen Quick Change Locks, Syntactic Foam and Metapor porous aluminum.
