Curbell hosted its first Vendor Forum attended by premier manufacturers such as Cyro Industries, Sheffield Plastics, Dupont, International Paper, PolyHi Solidur, Spartech, Ensinger, Cast Nylons and Westlake Plastics.

“2002 and Beyond” was the theme as Curbell celebrates its 60th anniversary year. The two-day event began with a welcoming dinner reception. Thomas Leone, Curbell's President, started the night’s festivities by telling the story of Curbell’s family history and how the company evolved from the macaroni business to fabrication and eventually plastics distribution. Mr. Leone gave the “State of Curbell Address” and explained Curbell’s vision for the future. He declared, “Curbell recently was granted a 4A1 rating by Dunn & Bradstreet in April. Most companies in our industry have been hurt because of the state of the economy. This company is 60 years old and still going strong!”

The second day of the forum consisted of presentations and panel discussions by Curbell’s management team, which introduced a new corporate awareness program, OurValuesTM Infinite possibilities.TM, which outlines training of salespeople to insure they are knowledgeable, commitment to inventory and reasonableness when negotiating prices.

To better serve customers, Curbell has implemented a new purchasing program called “Centers of Excellence” or COE’s. Specific materials will be inventoried at different branch locations depending on geographical sales, equipment on-hand, truck service lanes and personnel expertise.

Vendors were educated on Curbell’s current e-commerce business solution – mycurbell.com. Curbell’s website offers a total “industrial plastics” shopping experience. Customers have access to a full product line with contracted prices. They have the ability to check on real-time inventory, expedite orders and shipment status.
