Router CAD/CAM Software
CNC Software Inc. previewed its latest Mastercam Router CAD/CAM software at IWF 2002. Mastercam Router V9 is CAD/CAM designed specifically for woodworking, furniture, plastics and other industries that commonly use the special benefits that a router provides. This new software delivers easy design and programming, block drilling, efficient toolpath nesting, right-angle head support and much more.
Built on more than 15 years of programming experience, the software offers CAD/CAM tools ranging from basic flat-panel cutting, to complex and artistic 3D machining. Easy-to-use machining functions include contouring, pocketing, drilling, 3D surface cutting and 5-axis machining. Mastercam simplifies programming with its full associativity, meaning that both model and tooling information are linked. Users can modify any part, tool or machining strategy and get updated toolpaths with a single mouse click.
The block drill programming lets users quickly define their shop’s drill blocks and use them with maximum efficiency. Mastercam also visually verifies the process, displaying used drills and hiding unused drills.
Mastercam’s new toolpath nesting lets users program a part or series of parts and efficiently nest that machining process without creating additional CAD models. Router users can now be sure that each element of a nested sheet is cut with optimal sorting for fast cycle times.
Mastercam’s optional engraving produces the effect of classic hand-carved art using a CNC machine, with sharp inside corners to give the finished piece a crisp edge.
Developed by CNC Software, Inc., Mastercam is Windows-based CAD/CAM software for 2- through 5-axis milling, turning, 2- and 4-axis wire EDM, 2-D and 3-D design, surface and solid modeling
