Large Part Spin Welder
Plastic Assembly Systems introduced
the SW 950 Spin Welder,
the newest addition to its “Solutions
Series” line of secondary assembly
equipment.
This system completes
Plastic Assembly Systems’ line of
spin welding equipment. The SW
950 is designed to spin weld very
large parts, up to thirty inches in
diameter.
The spin welding system features
the highest level of machine control
in the industry to date. PAS couples
new servo technology in both the
spin and the Z-axes allowing for precise
control. The unit enables end-users
to run large parts and applications
that require precision and
repeatability. Some of the features
and benefits include: all machine
parameters are adjusted through the machine operator
interface, no mechanical adjustments; part orientation
can be controlled ± 1 degree over a
30” diameter part; spin axis speeds
can be adjusted in 1 rpm increments
up to 3000 rpm. Since the spin axis is
servo driven, the output rpm will remain
constant regardless of the load applied
during the weld cycle. The vertical feed
rate is adjustable in .100” per minute
increments. The final weld distance is
adjustable in .001” increments. The
advantages over electric and air motor
spin welders are precise control of the
velocity and rpm, which is crucial during
the weld cycle. The upper tool home posi-tion
is variable, which allows the operator
to lower the system start point, decreasing
cycle time. Plastic Assembly Systems’ new
SW950 is easy and quick to set up, its
heavy-duty design makes it one of the most
reliable spin welders on the market.
