Adhesive Can Be Sanded To A Nonporous Finish
New Plastic Welder™ SD (sandable) adhesive from
Devcon is ideal for bonding PPO, PVC and various
polyesters, polycarbonates, styrenics and composites
where filler material must be sanded to a smooth, non-porous
finish.
Its low-exotherm formula exhibits no expansion
or foaming. Its low odor and ease of application make
it a good choice for many OEM assembly operations.
A structural methacrylate adhesive that requires little or
no surface preparation, the material also fills gaps, bonds
to “green” fiberglass without sagging and can be used to
join engineered plastics to dissimilar substrates such as
metals, ceramics and wood. Its high-strength, load-bearing
bonds are resistant to weathering, impact and peeling and
withstand service temperatures to 250° F.
It has a working time of 4-5 minutes and attains functional
cure in 2-4 hours at room temperature. Mixed as
dispensed (1:1), it is available in resealable 47-ml car-tridges
and a 10-gallon kit.
