ESD Material
Piper Plastics, Inc. introduced the Krefine line of ESD
(Electro-Static Dissipative) materials. Developed by
the Kureha Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., Tokyo, Japan, this
unique family of materials combines specialty carbon
materials and superior compounding technology. Featuring consistent, repeatable results, Kureha can
guarantee the surface resistivity fluctuation to within one
power of ten. Proprietary compounding technology has
made it possible to ensure the same resistivity at any
point on the surface layer; control the respective resistivity
of the skin and central layers and use several types of
custom carbon materials to provide products with a specific
resistivity in the 106 to 1012 ohms/sq. range.
Currently stocked in PEEK 10mm and 20mm thicknesses
x 500mm x 1000mm, this compound can be added to
PES, PEI, PVDF, PBT, PC, POM, PP, PE, ABS and other
standard resins.
