It's Showtime

Atlanta, Indy, Chicago. No it’s not the NASCAR circuit, it’s our show circuit for August and September. We will be exhibiting and attending at least three shows over the next two months including IWF 2004, the SPE Thermoforming Conference and The P-O-P Show Chicago. Come see what’s new in the world of machinery, tooling and cut sheet forming. Visit with us and our advertisers. For further information click on Mark Your Calendar for dates and website addresses. Also see the IWF and SPE Show Directories for our booth number and the numbers of the advertisers in the July/August issue. I hope to see you there!

This is a great issue. Featuring our 2004 Buyer’s Guide, it includes over 100 of our advertisers’ products and services for all aspects of the plastic shapes industry. It is divided into nine categories with an alphabetical listing to leading companies that are helping shape our industry today. The online version of the 2004 Buyer’s Guide is keyword searchable.

Are you looking for ways to Improve Efficiency In CNC Routing? Then read what Phil Bryant, Business Manager, Plastics for SCM Group USA has to say about Nested Based Manufacturing (NBM). It can help you increase material yield and part repeatability.

In Van Niser’s column he discusses Routing Composites and answers some of the most asked questions today. You will find that these materials are not as difficult to cut as they once were.

Also in this issue, Michael Alongi discusses some of the new technology and quick change features that are available to cut sheet thermoformers today. As economic times change, thermoformers are being forced to step up to the next level.

Finally, in Safety Solutions, Jack Podojil discusses How They Got Hurt and shows that knowing the leading causes of injuries is the first step in learning how to protect against them.

What’s next? Our September/October issue will feature polycarbonate, an IWF Fair Wrap-up and our regular series on routing, thermoforming and safety. Until then, we hope you find what you are looking for in our 2004 Buyer’s Guide. And if you are attending either of the shows we will be exhibiting at, please stop by and say hello, we would love to see you!

Enjoy the issue,
