Vortex Tool Expands
Increasing demand for high performance
cutting tools has caused
Vortex Tool Company to expand its
production facility in Schofield,
Wisconsin.
According to Vortex Vice
President Mike Serwa, the company is
adding 17,500 square feet onto the
existing 10,000 square foot plant.
“Our expansion will accommodate
new machinery and will provide additional
space for future expansion of
operating space. The construction will
not interrupt our current business,”
said Serwa. The expansion should be
complete in February 2005.
The 2004 recipient of the International
Woodworking Fair (IWF) Challengers
Award, Vortex Tool Company,
Inc., designs and manufactures highperformance
router and insert cutting
tools for the woodworking and plastics
industries. The company produces
tools with cutting edges in various
grades of carbide, stellite, high-speed
steel and polycrystalline diamond and
provides custom tool design, retipping
