King To Increase Capacity

King Plastic Corporation is growing again. With record sales and an expanding customer base, the North Port, Florida-based manufacturer of polymer sheets, slabs and massive shapes has embarked on an ambitious capacity increase - codename “QUEST” - that will increase the company’s output by nearly a third this summer.

“QUEST is more than just an expansion of our K-Stran™ process,” said company President Jeff King. “It includes company-wide process improvements and technology updates that will increase quality and efficiency in everything we do.”

Lead times on all King products will improve substantially. In particular, King’s VHMW PE, architectural partition sheets, cutting board stock and anti-skid marine sheets (King Hy-Pact® VH, King PlastiBal®, King CuttingBoard® and King StarBoard® AS, respectively) will be significantly impacted by the K-Stran increase, with many non-stock lead times expected to be as little as 14 days. Its borated polymers (King Plasti-Shield®) and pipe-grade materials (King PipeGrade®) will also see significant decreases in lead times.
