ShopBot Celebrates Anniversary

In June 2004, ShopBot Tools Inc. released the PRTalpha CNC router. The new line of CNCs featured the industry’s first closed-loop stepper motors that gave ShopBot’s tool performance speeds of up to 1,800 inches per minute for transit and 600 inches per minute for cutting. Now, one year later, the PRTalpha is believed to be the fastest selling CNC ever with more than 400 sold in its inaugural year.

The PRTalpha technology remains very affordable for ShopBot customers and offers a fully upgraded 4’ x 8’ CNC tool with a 5HP Columbo spindle and CAD CAM software.
