Panel Utilization Management
Schelling America, Inc. introduced XBOB, the latest
innovation in panel utilization management systems.
XBOB incorporates Schelling’s High Performance
Optimization (HPO) software, an innovative off-piece storage
rack and hard copy labels, to enable you to achieve
100% cutting yield.
As a panel is cut to size, XBOB calculates the dimensions
of the unused portion of that panel and assigns a
number to the off-piece. This number coincides with predetermined
location numbers on the XBOB storage rack.
A label is generated and affixed to the off-piece which is
then placed in the appropriate slot of the storage rack.
This information is simultaneously transferred to the
Schelling HPO software and XBOB informs it that the offal
part is now available for cutting.
Communication between the saw and HPO is accomplished
via a Windows network; thus, all data is available
in real time both at the saw and in the office. As future
cutting patterns are generated, the HPO scans the data
on all offal pieces, evaluates the utilization efficiency of
each and when appropriate displays that part storage
location number so that the operator can retrieve and cut
the piece. In short, offal pieces are never lost or wasted
but are instead utilized to their greatest potential with the
end result being virtually 100% panel yield.
