PCD Roughing and Finishing Tool

Onsrud Cutter LP has also launched a new line of cutters to attack difficult to machine parts manufactured from carbon fiber, G-10 and other fiberglass materials. These PCD (Polycrystalline Diamond) double fluted tools on a solid carbide body provide the benefits of a roughing mill with the edge quality of a finishing mill. The SERF tool accomplishes the dual benefit through unique Sinusoidal Edge Rougher Finisher geometry, which serves as a shearing action in the cut and reduces impact forces resulting in longer tool life, less cutting forces, greater feed rates and reduced noise. The cutters are offered in 1/4” to 1/2” diameters and are readily available from authorized Onsrud Cutter distributors.

PCD Compression

Onsrud Cutter LP announced the introduction of a line of PCD (Polycrystalline Diamond) compression cutting tools for difficult to cut materials. These single-edge tools with a mortise tip will provide a chip-free edge on the top and bottom surface of the material, while dramatically extending overall tool life.

A new brochure outlines these economically priced tools which are offered in 3/8” to 3/4” diameters. These tools can be easily serviced for increased tool productivity. If the abrasive nature of modern day melamine and laminated material is playing havoc with your present tooling, it may be time to try a PCD from the originator of up/down compression, Onsrud Cutter LP.
