10,000 Machines

Compared to other industries, the machine tool industry is relatively low-volume. Unit volume, however, is a relative term. In an industry where many companies struggle to build 100 machines per year, manufacturing 10,000 machines in a 12-month period is a major feat.

That is exactly what Haas Automation, Inc. did in 2005. The company built – as well as sold and shipped – more than 10,000 CNC machines at its manufacturing facility in Oxnard, California. That’s an increase of more than 22% over 2004 and more than 200% over 2003.
