Plastics Seminar at AWFS® Vegas
The 2007 AWFS® College of Woodworking Knowledge®
education program will offer a seminar entitled, “How
to Improve Productivity and Edge Quality When Cutting
Plastics.” The session aims to inform woodworkers of how
they can maximize the capabilities of their CNC equipment
in regard to plastics. It covers automating the process
using panel saw technology, improving operator material
handling options and reducing the overall cutting cycle
time. The session will be delivered by Phil Bryant of SCM
Group USA, a technical support pro. Bryant will also discuss
how optimization software can increase material yield
and will demonstrate how to get high quality edges and
how to prevent chipping, crazing, melting or “blowing out”
in production mode. The seminar, which will run on
Thursday, July 19, is part of the early morning SMART!
Sessions—the technically oriented seminars conducted on
the exhibit floor, in the pre-show hours of 7:30 a.m. to
9:00 a.m. Space is limited so early registration is encouraged.
