In light of current job loss trends in the state of Michigan, notably in the manufacturing sector, Modern is pleased to say they have been able to not only maintain steady business, but also continue to grow. Corey Pohlman has joined their sales staff and new people have been added to all departments of the manufacturing staff as well. And, additional land was recently purchased to accommodate future growth.
King Plastic Corporation announced the addition of Joe Cobert to their growing sales team. Cobert’s role at King will primarily be focused on new markets such as outdoor building products and will include expanding on King’s industrial distribution sales.
Jacques Aschenbroich has been named President and CEO of
Saint-Gobain Corporation, the $8.5 billion Valley Forge, PA-based manufacturer of packaging, construction products and high-performance materials. Saint- Gobain Corporation is the holding company for Compagnie de Saint-Gobain’s U.S. and Canada operations.
Kleerdex Company, LLC named William Crane Jr. as its newest manufacturer’s representative for plastics distribution. Crane will cover the southeast United States.
Norplex-Micarta announced the appointment of Pat Harms to the position of Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Harms will include overseeing all manufacturing engineering activities at the company’s headquarters in Postville, Iowa.
Also, Scott Loven has been added as Quality Assurance Manager. Loven will be responsible for overseeing all quality assurance activities, including managing customer material and specification needs, coordinating with suppliers on material and/or process specifications and identifying key material or process metrics. Loven will also serve as the Norplex- Micarta ISO representative.
Finally, Dan Krammen was appointed to the position of Facilities Engineer/Maintenance Manager. Krammen will be responsible for overseeing and directing all maintenance activities.
Obituary
John C. Waszkiewicz, III died on October 19 at the age of 54
after a brief illness. Waszkiewicz recently acquired the assets of Union Products, most recognized for the original Pink Plastic Flamingo, now being manufactured by HMC International, L.L.C., Rome, NY, a plastic molding company of which Waszkiewicz was President and CEO. Waszkiewicz was also President and CEO of Faster-Form Corporation, New Hartford, NY, the company responsible for the sales of the Union Products line being produced at HMC.
