SIMONA Increases Production
In 2007, SIMONA AMERICA Inc. moved and expanded its
operations fromMountaintop, PA to Hazleton, PA. The new
plant which more than tripled the floor space, increased
Polyolefin and PVC sheet production by 30% and expanded
the product offering focused in industrialmarkets. In addition,
SIMONA consolidated and expanded warehouse operations
and provided office space for added customer support.
The new plant design will meet the growing needs of the
thermoplastic semi-finished products market with the
availability of 1 1/2 inch gauge sheet up to 78 inches wide.
PVC production has increased with
redundant line capability and enhanced
new compounding and re-cycling equipment.
All sheet production has benefited
from improved raw material flow and
storage plus new dies, loading and
stacking equipment. Located on a 16
acre site with a rail access, the plant
can easily be expanded to meet future
market requirements.
At the new location, SIMONA has
recently expanded its stocking programs
in HDPE and Copolymer
Polypropylene to service markets like
pipe grade, orthotic and prosthetics,
chemical/corrosions resistance and general
industrial products. In addition to
these increased stock levels in sheet,
SIMONA tripled its inventory of PVC,
PVDF and Polyolefin rod stock with rod
diameters ranging from 1/4 inch to 32
inches.
