Laird Recognizes Environmental Recycling Stewardship
Laird Plastics recently recognized 114 companies for their
demonstrated environmental stewardship through their
recycling partnership with Laird. Landfills have been
spared thousands of tons of plastics with the help of Laird
Plastics recycling program. Brett Thompson, Manager of
Laird Plastics Recycling and Environmental Business Unit, stated, “We feel our position in the supply chain makes us
uniquely suited to effectively close the plastics recycling
loop. We would like to thank those customers that have
helped us develop a robust domestic recycling network.”
Laird Plastics created their North American Recycling
and Environmental Business Unit in 2009, with a charter
to drive plastic pounds back into domestic manufacturing,
and reduce the volume of plastics that find their way to
North American landfills. The program includes the recycling
of acrylic, polycarbonate, polypropylene, polyethylene,
ABS, PETG, HIPS and other plastic materials.
According to Thompson, the environmental arena is constantly
evolving, and that Laird Plastics will continue to
add value through sustainability.
