Decorative 6565-Rated High Impact Sheet
A new grade of PVC/Acrylic
alloy sheet for thermoforming
of aircraft interior components
is offered in unlimited
custom patterns. Called
Boltaron 9815D, the sheet
exhibits Izod impact resistance
of 5.0 ft lbs/in (265
J/m), significantly improving
the durability of formed
components, while meeting
FAR 6565 requirements for
flammability, smoke generation
and heat release.
Unlimited custom patterns such as carbon fiber, wood
grains, abstracts and simulated fabrics are available in a
range of surface textures with low minimums according to
the company.
The sheet is extruded in gauges from 0.040 to .250" in
widths to 48" and lengths to 120" with custom sizes available,
and is said to maintain uniform wall thickness and pattern
consistency when thermoformed into deep recesses and
over outside corners. It can also be readily sawn, drilled,
tapped, routed and otherwise machined using conventional
tools and can be brake formed, heat welded, adhesive bonded
and mechanically fastened, allowing rapid fabrication.
Typical applications include dividers, galley components,
lavatory parts, PSUs, seat parts, tray tables, window
reveals and moldings.
