Nylon & Acetal Shapes
Wear Pad Grade Applications
Quadrant
EPPs new
Nylatron®
WP is an
economical
option of a
high-performance
material
developed
specifically for wear pad grade applications. It has superior
wear-resistance, low-friction and stress-free properties
that make it a viable choice for demanding applications
and extending the life of parts.
Designed for durability and sustainability, Nylatron WP
is made with Quadrants proprietary self-lubricating Nylon
6 formation that outlasts standard cast nylons (Type 6
Nylon) in wear applications. With less downtime and
reduced maintenance, end-users benefit from the
increased performance and productivity, saving time and
money.
Nylatron WP is lighter weight than metal which helps to
reduce chatter and the loss of control, or stick slip that is
associated with it. Recognized for its toughness and good
abrasion resistance properties, Nylatron WP provides
noise reduction and corrosion resistance.
Because it can withstand higher loads, Nylatron WP can
reduce or possibly eliminate the need for costly lubrication
systems and keep equipment running efficiently.
Nylon, which is inherently impact resistant, is used in wear
pad applications because of its low friction properties.
Nylatron WP and Quadrants Nylatron product line are
easily machined and quickly fabricated.

Stock Shape Acetals & Nylons
Ensinger offers a
wide range of
engineering plastics
that are ideal
for machining a
variety of parts.
Produced in ISO
9001:2008 certified
facilities from
premium grade
resins, Ensinger materials show consistently low internal
stress that leads to dimensional stability and the ability to
hold tighter tolerances. Based on the application, designers
can choose from several popular brand name products,
including DELRIN®, TECAFORM®, TECAMID®, and
TECAST®.
DELRIN and TECAFORM are acetal products that are
used extensively in bushings, bearings, pulleys, and other
wear products. TECAFORM, an acetal copolymer can be
found in general industrial bushings, rollers, and pulleys.
Ensingers DELRIN shapes are made from homopolymer
resin manufactured by DuPont. They offer superior tensile
properties, fatigue endurance, and creep resistance when
compared to acetal copolymers. It is ideal for use in surface
wear applications on conveyors such as bushings, fittings,
and impellers. It has excellent chemical resistance to
hydrocarbons, solvents, and natural chemicals. Both products
exhibit low moisture absorption.
TECAMID and TECAST are nylon products. TECAMID,
used in bushings, bearings, pulleys, and other wear parts,
is extruded nylon that is chemical resistant to hydrocarbons,
ketones, and esters. TECAST, a cast nylon, provides
an excellent combination of bearing properties, toughness,
strength, and lightweight. Stock shapes of TECAST
are available in almost limitless size range and can be cast
to custom specifications.

Copolymer Acetal
Rochling Engineering
Plastics SUSTARIN® C
(Acetal) is a general
purpose copolymer
acetal that is porosity
free. The technology
used in their manufacturing
process ensures
that every sheet and
rod is free of centerline
or core porosity.
SUSTARIN C is easily
machined with excellent
dimensional stability for close tolerance parts. A low
coefficient of friction and excellent wear properties, especially
in wet or moist environments, make it easy to see
why SUSTARIN C is one of the most widely used engineering
thermoplastics available today.
They offer the following certification for their acetal:
ASTM POM 0211, D6778, FDA21 CFR 177.2470, ASTM
POM 211, D 6100 and the material is USDA compliant.
