Making Your Own Opportunities
The new year is underway and looks like another promising one for our industry. Fabricated plastic parts continue to find new markets and applications, due in part, to new materials and advances in machinery. The materials, machinery and tooling in this issue will help you open new doors for your business. You can create opportunities with these tools. There has never been a more exciting time to be in plastics.
We kick-off with what’s new in CNC Routers & Tooling. From 3- and 5-axis machines that will increase your productivity and profitability to the tooling that helps you achieve the best finish off your new, or existing, CNC router, we have it all. Plastic fabricators have more options to choose from than ever before. CNC machines are becoming more and more compact, are easier to operate and are highly customizable to meet your unique production needs.
Next see how custom vacuum tables can help you have faster and more accurate setups while allowing you to machine the entire surface of the work piece. Vacuum tables are available in a wide range of configurations to meet your specific fabrication requirements.
Finally we look at what’s new in Composites. Thermoset materials are the oldest plastic yet they continue to offer properties that cannot be matched by any other thermoplastics. Composites are well suited for applications in aerospace, oil & gas, semiconductor & electronics as well as medical, aerospace, analytic instrumentation and energy. They offer superior strength to weight ratios, a low coefficient of thermal expansion and are moisture resistant.
We had so much good stuff we ran out of room for ”Safety Solutions” this month. But don’t worry Jack will be back next issue. You can also read his article Are You Ready for the New Year? in advance on our website. If your company needs assistance with a safety related matter, Jack would be happy to help. As a reader of PD&F Magazine he is available for an initial consultation. He can be reached via email at jpodojil@podojilconsulting.com. Whether it is to discuss your safety program or a wide range of topics, Jack has over 40 years of experience in industrial safety.
