King Plastic Corporation, a leading

and massive shapes, announced the
appointment of Vincent McElhone as a
new Independent Sales Representative
covering accounts in New England and
Mid-Atlantic states. McElhone has 35
years of experience in the plastics
industry. McElhone continues representing
numerous product lines for companies selling to
distributors, plastics fabricators, and original equipment
manufacturers for the medical, mass transit, military, signage,
and marine industries. McElhone’s primary focus for
King Plastic’s will be on growing the company’s market
share in the architectural and industrial markets.
Bayview Plastic Solutions announced
that Laurie Couto is joining their team
as Vice President of Operations & Sales.
Having over 20 years in the plastic distribution
industry partnering up with
many of the manufacturers in the San
Francisco bay area, her experiences as
Branch Manager for SABIC Polymer -
shapes and Calsak Plastics will help
them in innovating their procurement, marketing and cost
reductions efforts moving forward. Her
responsibilities include streamlining
their processes, organic growth and
customer development.
Bayview also announced that Frederick Leung is joining
their team as
Content Marketing
Manager where he
will be responsible
for creating their
Social Media, website
and brand marketing content.
CartierWilson
LLC, a leading performance
plastics
and accessories manufacturer’s representative agency, announced its recent
hire of Andy Boyle,
who will join the
team as Territory Manager for Southern
California, Arizona and Nevada. “We are
very proud to have Andy on our team.
We have had the pleasure of working
together as a customer, principal and as
a friend,” said Vice President, Alicia Spence.
Boyle comes to CartierWilson with 20-years of experience in both plastic distribution and manufacturing.
A diverse background that spans from sales to
product development to leadership; this will aid in application
and program enhancement within the territory for
their principals and clients.
Biesse America announced Giorgio
Lobbia has accepted the position of
West Coast Regional Sales Mana ger.
Lobbia has 20 years of experience in the
woodworking industry, 14 of those directly
with Biesse. In his new role, Lobbia will
be responsible for the management and
representation of the entire Biesse product
line on the west coast, managing the
regional sales team and distribution network.
SIMONA AMERICA Industries announced that Chris Art has been
promoted to Vice President of Sales. Art
has worked in the plastics industry since
2012, leading new product and business
development programs by partnering
with plastic distributors and other customers
to strategically grow their business,
drive market opportunity and raisep roduct awareness. Art started with SIMONA in 2016 as
sales manager for the industrial business segment. Since
then, he assumed responsibility for the semicon and chemical
processing industry business segments.
Curbell Plastics, Inc. announced the
promotion of Beth Wagner to Business
Manager leading Curbell’s Rochester
and Western New York (Buffalo, New
York) branches. Her responsibilities
include managing inside and outside
sales personnel, sales budgeting and
execution, along with day-to-day administration
of her locations.
McElroy announced the appointment
of Geoff Koch, P.E. , as vice president
of product development, who will
help lead the continuing evolution and
global impact of McElroy pipe fusion
equipment. At McElroy, he will be
responsible for design, prototype build
and testing of all new equipment in
addition to supporting McElroy’s current
and extensive line of pipe fusion products.
Atlas Saw & Tool, LLC, a leading saw blade manufacturer,
announced the addition of Ray Kordecki to their organization.
Kordecki joins Atlas from General Saw Corp and brings
over 45 years of plastics saw blade manufacturing to Atlas’
team of industry-leading application specialists. Kordecki will
be leading sales and overseeing new product development
for Atlas’ extensive line of plastic-cutting saw blades.
IN MEMORIAM
We are saddened to inform the industry that Michael
Batky passed away on January 23, 2020 at the age of
75. A pioneer in the plastics distribution and fabrication
industry, Mr. Batky started in the business in 1963.
Having spent time with Ace Plastics, Almac Plastics, Laird
Plastics and AIN Plastics, Mr. Batky became the President
of Almac/Laird Plastics in the late 1980’s into the 1990’s.
In 1999 Mr. Batky joined Business Answers International,
a plastics industry consulting firm, where he worked closely
with many of the industry’s top manufacturers, distributors
and fabricators. In 2017 Mr. Batky focused his
efforts on one of his greatest passions – yield optimization,
with Falcon Optimizer. Integral in helping to found
this new software company, he genuinely loved working to
help clients improve their businesses. The satisfaction
that arose from directly impacting his clients’ success
could not have been more evident. Mr. Batky will be
remembered fondly by everyone at Business Answers
International, Falcon Optimizer, and throughout the plastics
industry.
