Bright White PVC Meets FM-4910
Vycom® introduced new fire-resistant Flametec Thermax
XL PVC, a high-aesthetic sheet that meets FM4910 criteria
and is ideal for various applications in demanding
industrial and cleanroom environments. Thermax XL PVC
is a next-generation material, delivering a bright white
surface with outstanding aesthetic value for a variety of
exacting production environments, including semiconductor,
cleanroom and labs. Part of Vycom’s Flametec line of
products, Thermax XL PVC is an expansion of Vycom’s
extensive offerings under The AZEK Company.
Fire- and heat-resistant the sheet is ANSI FM-4910
compliant, certifying
the material
passes the
Factory Mutual
test for fire generation
and smoke
density.
Contamination
from smoke particulates
and toxicity
can cause
damage to factory
facilities, products and technologies and can endanger
employees.
The material is ideal for fabricating laboratory and semiconductor
cleanroom equipment including wet benches,
process tools, furniture, cabinetry and chemical delivery
systems. The PVC sheets are also ideal for crafting carts
for acid or chemical transportation. Additionally, they can
be used to assemble fume hoods, processing sinks and
baths as well as chemical storage. Available in 0.125-
through 1” thicknesses, the standard sheet size is 4’ x 8’;
other sheet sizes are available by special order.
Vycom also supplies the welding rod, which uses the
same formulation as the sheet, to maximize ease of fabrication.
It can be welded, cut, shaped, fastened, and glued
with the same workability as standard PVC. The intuitive
workability of the material eliminates special training,
reducing downtime and speeding project turnaround.
