COMPANY CONVERTS DIVISIONS INTO SUBSIDIARIES
Hoechst is converting its divisions into independent subsidiaries. The Technical Polymers Division became an autonomous company and is one of the world's leading suppliers of engineering plastics. The new company name is Ticona and products include trade names such as Celcon®, Celanex®, Fortron®, Hostalen GUR® (PE-UHMW) and many more. In 1976 Ticona achieved sales with its engineering plastics of $879 million in Europe and the Americas.
