LARGE SIZES OF PEEK STOCK SHAPES
Ketron(TM) polyaryletherketone (PEEK) high-performance stock shapes are now available in rod diameters up to 200mm (about 8 in.), tubular bar up to 140mm OD (5.5 in.) and plate in widths up to 615mm (24.2 in.) from DSM Engineering Plastic Products. In addition to permitting larger products to be machined from Ketron(TM) PEEK, the larger sizes allow multiple parts to be machined with less waste. The large-diameter rod allow large parts which previously were made from plate to be machined from rod and, thus, reduce waste. PEEK stock shapes are available from stock in unfilled (both natural and black), 30% carbon fiber-reinforced, 30% glass fiber-reinforced and bearing grades. Natural Ketron(TM) 1000 PEEK rod, tubular rod and plate are electrically and thermally insulative and have the highest elongation and impact strength. Glass fiber reinforced GF30 PEEK has enhanced strength and dimensional stability. Carbon fiber reinforced Ketron(TM) CA30 is electrically conductive. Bearing grade Ketron(TM) HPV PEEK has excellent wear resistance.
